Ruth De Vere is the Head of Education at the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and is based in London.  With a degree in Biology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, she taught Science (Biology specialism) for 6 years at a high school in Northumberland, north-east England.  After a period of extensive travel she undertook a Masters in Primatology where she studied nesting behaviour of the critically endangered Cross River Gorilla in Cameroon.

Ruth has worked for the Education team at WSPA since December 2008 and supports a regional team that carry out projects in Central and South America, Africa and Asia.
